- We decided to make a bold move in the spring of 2010. We quit our steady, enjoyable jobs in Idaho to take a nearly three month trip to Europe. We're going to meet family, attend a good friend's wedding, attempt to trace our ancestral roots and see a piece of what Europe has to offer. This blog is a means of keeping a travel journal, a way for our family and friends to keep up with us while we're away and, possibly, the beginnings of a travel book. Enjoy...
Nick!! Happy birthday!! I am sure you are having a fantastic time out there! This has got to be one of the best birthday's I'm sure. I can't wait to see you and Sam at the cabin and hear all about your journey. I will hopefully have some potato vodka in hand upon your arrival! Miss you both!

Thanks for the birthday message Elizabeth. We spent my birthday in Cinque Terre, Italy, on the beach in one of the most beautiful places we've ever been to. The water was so clear and refreshingly cold. We're in St. Raphael, France, right now and are getting ready to leave tomorrow for the Swiss Alps.
